Nigeria’s U-18 D’Tigers produced a dominant display to defeat hosts Burkina Faso 98-54 in their FIBA U-18 African Championship qualifying campaign.

The Nigerian side took control from the opening tip-off, outclassing the hosts with a disciplined defensive performance and an efficient offensive display.

The emphatic victory reflected Nigeria’s strength in depth, as several players made significant contributions on both ends of the court.

Victor Nwafor and Joshua Ogbonna led the scoring with 18 points each, while Thomas Okoh added 16 points. Victor Sunday also impressed, recording 17 points and nine rebounds to finish just one rebound shy of a double-double.

The convincing win gives the D’Tigers a strong start to their qualifying campaign as they look to maintain their momentum in the race for a place at the FIBA U-18 African Championship.
