The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will today conduct the draw ceremony for the national phase of the 2026 President Federation Cup at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.
The draw comes after the conclusion of the national playoff stage, where four teams were eliminated from the women’s competition and six sides crashed out in the men’s category.
A total of 32 teams will compete in the women’s tournament, while 64 teams will battle for honours in the men’s competition as the race for this year’s title officially begins.
Defending champions Kwara United will lead the pack in the men’s category alongside notable clubs such as Shooting Stars, Rangers International, Bendel Insurance, Nasarawa United, Rivers United, Ikorodu City, Barau FC, and former African champions Enyimba FC.
The women’s competition will feature reigning champions Rivers Angels, who are expected to face stiff competition from top sides including Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, FC Robo Queens, Ibom Angels, Edo Queens, Naija Ratels, and Abia Angels.
Other qualified teams in the women’s category include Ahudiyannem Queens from Abia State, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, FC Robo Queens from Lagos, and Rivers Angels.
The men’s competition also boasts the presence of several grassroots and academy teams from across the country, adding excitement and unpredictability to the tournament.
The President Federation Cup, regarded as Nigeria’s oldest domestic knockout football competition, enters its 78th edition this year.
Today’s draw is expected to determine the fixtures and route to the final for teams aiming to secure national glory in both categories.
