The Osun State Signage and Advertisement Agency has alleged that the SDP Osun Central Senatorial Candidate, Goke Omigbodun, failed to obtain the required approval and comply with its regulations before mounting some of his campaign materials, leading to their removal.
The agency’s General Manager, Bola Oni, disclosed this during an issue-based programme on Afinju 90.7 FM. He explained that some of the campaign materials were mounted in Government Reserved Areas, attributing the situation to inadequate consultation before installation.
Omigbodun, who also appeared on the programme, had earlier accused the agency of corruption and irregular payment procedures. He alleged that he was instructed to pay into a personal bank account bearing the name Deborah Adesogbon, rather than the agency’s official account.
In response, Oni confirmed that Fasogbon is a desk officer with the agency’s consulting partner. He maintained that Omigbodun obtained her account details through what he described as a “proxy,” adding that she was only trying to assist the candidate.
Also speaking on the matter, the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement, Ridwan Adewale, alleged that Omigbodun made the payment through unofficial channels.
Adewale further accused the candidate of repeatedly bypassing established approval procedures, claiming that he adopted a similar approach during his 2022 governorship bid.
