Ousmane Dembele scored his second hat-trick of the week as Paris St-Germain won at Brest to move 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

The France forward also registered three goals in PSG’s Champions League victory over Stuttgart on Wednesday.

Dembele, 27, has now scored 14 goals in his past eight appearances, with his impressive return in front of goal carrying him top of the Ligue 1 scoring chart.

PSG manager Luis Enrique told reporters Ousmane can become the player he wants to be. If he remains confident in front of goal, he has no equal.

PSG, who will face the same opponents in the play-off round of Europe’s elite club competition in February, are looking for their fourth successive French title and 11th in 13 years.

They remain unbeaten domestically but were made to work hard for their victory in Brittany.

Romain del Castillo drew the hosts level after the break and Ludovic Ajorque also scored before two late Goncalo Ramos goals sealed PSG’s win.

In the meantime, Barcelona women stumbled 2-1 against Levante  for a first home league defeat since 2019 but remained comfortably top of the Liga F table.

The reigning Spanish and European champions lead second-place Real Madrid by eight points. Their last home league loss was to Huesca in February 2019.

Barcelona have only lost one other match this season, in the Champions League in October when they fell 2-0 at Manchester City.
