Osun Babes FC secured a crucial back-to-back victory on Wednesday, April 15, thanks to a first-half penalty converted by Sharon Shomuyiwa.

The encounter, which kicked off at 4 p.m. at the Lanreleke Sports Complex in Ile-Ogbo, was played under bright, sunny conditions and delivered an intense, closely contested affair from start to finish.

Both sides showed strong organization and determination, with Nasarawa Amazons matching the hosts in intensity and discipline throughout the game. However, it was Osun Babes who found the breakthrough in the 36th minute after a handball in the penalty area led to a spot kick. Shomuyiwa stepped up confidently and made no mistake from 12 yards, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Osun Babes came into the fixture with renewed confidence following their recent victory over Confluence Queens, which ended a prolonged winless run. The win marks a significant boost for the team as they continue their fight to maintain top-flight status.

Despite a spirited performance from the visitors who had earlier claimed a comfortable 2–0 win in the reverse fixture, Osun Babes held firm to secure all three points.

The hosts will now turn their attention to their next challenge, an away fixture against Sunshine Queens of Akure, as they aim to secure a third consecutive victory and strengthen their position in the league standings.
