Salah has scored only three times this season, once from a penalty, and has gone six matches without a goal. His dip in form stretches back several months, with just five goals in his last 23 appearances.
Slot said he believes the Egyptian star will start scoring again soon.
“Footballers miss chances, Mo is human too,” the Dutch coach said. “We’re just not used to seeing him miss a few in a row. But he has always scored goals for this club, and I’m sure he’ll do it again soon.”
Slot suggested that Liverpool’s summer rebuild has affected the team’s rhythm. The departures and arrivals of several key players, including the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid and the addition of new signings, have forced players to build new on-field connections.
“Every player needs time to find new partnerships after so many changes,” Slot said. “Mo is no exception.”
Liverpool will again be without Jeremie Frimpong and Alisson Becker due to hamstring injuries, while Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch remain doubtful.
Salah will hope to regain his scoring touch when Liverpool face Brentford, a side he has scored six times against in seven games.
