The decision comes amid growing pressure following the team’s 2–1 loss to newly promoted Barau FC and recent NPFL sanctions due to crowd trouble. The club was fined ₦9.5 million, handed a three-point and three-goal deduction, and ordered to play 10 home games in Katsina behind closed doors.
