The Alayemore of Ido-Osun Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, has called on traditional rulers to strengthen unity and deepen collaboration in addressing security challenges and advancing sustainable development across their communities.

The monarch made the call during a strategic council meeting of traditional rulers held on Monday at the Alayemore Palace in Ido-Osun.

Addressing the gathering, Oba Jokotola stressed the vital role of traditional institutions in maintaining peace, fostering social cohesion and supporting government efforts aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Media and Communications to the Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Okunoye Oluwaseyi Adesoji, the meeting brought together monarchs and community leaders from various parts of the Alayemore Kingdom to deliberate on issues affecting the communities and chart a common path for development.

The royal father, who also serves as Chairman of the Egbedore Local Government Council of Obas, noted that traditional rulers possess unique advantages through their close relationship with the grassroots and their deep understanding of local realities.

The monarch also highlighted the need for closer synergy between traditional institutions and government agencies in addressing pressing security concerns such as kidnapping, farmer-herder clashes and other criminal activities threatening public safety.

He explained that the gathering was convened to strengthen cooperation among royal fathers and enhance the capacity of traditional institutions to contribute meaningfully to governance, security and community development.

Oba Jokotola applauded the people of Ido-Osun and other communities in Osun State for their commitment to peaceful coexistence, describing peace as a critical foundation for growth and progress.

Among those in attendance were the Olu of Aduramigba, Olu Gbotaru, Olu Woru, Olu Kuse, Oniworu, Alapupu, Oloke Ibukun and several other monarchs and Baales from across Alayemore Kingdom.
