The 32-year-old, formerly of Arsenal FC, is facing five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault, involving three women. The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2022, during Partey’s tenure at the Premier League club.
Partey, who appeared at Southwark Crown Court, confirmed his name and date of birth before entering not guilty pleas to all six charges in a brief hearing. He has been granted bail and is scheduled to stand trial on November 2, 2026.
Presiding Judge Christopher Hehir acknowledged the lengthy delay before trial, citing the crown courts’ significant case backlog.
“Because you have bail, effectively you are sitting behind a queue of people in prison who are waiting to be tried,” the judge explained.
Under the terms of his bail, Partey must not contact the alleged victims and is required to inform police of any permanent changes to his address or any international travel.
The court appearance came just one day after Partey featured in Villarreal’s 1–0 Champions League loss to Tottenham Hotspur in London.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for a reported fee of £45 million. He made 167 appearances for the Gunners, scoring nine goals, and played 52 games in his final season at the club. His contract expired on June 30, 2025.
