According to reports, the 28-year-old’s previous deal was due to end in 2027, but the new agreement extends his stay until 2029, with an option for an additional 12 months.

Since joining from Benfica for £65m in 2020, the Portugal international has been a pivotal figure for City, earning the Premier League Player of the Year award in his debut season.

Over his five years at the Etihad, Dias has helped the club clinch four Premier League titles, the Champions League, the EFL Cup, and the FA Cup.

Reacting to the contract extension he said, “I am incredibly happy today.

“I love Manchester, it is my home now and I love the Manchester City fans.

“When I think about the trophies we have won and how we have played our football during my time here, I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else,” he said.
