Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, and Aminu Tambuwal recently visited Kaduna State for high-level discussions with opposition figures as part of a broader political strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit comes amid growing momentum around a newly formed alliance involving Atiku, El-Rufai, and a former Labour presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Atiku who announced during a press briefing organized by a group called Concerned Leaders and Political Stakeholders in Nigeria, noted that the coalition is aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the next presidential race.

Consequently, Adewale Adebayo, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the 2023 election, revealed that Atiku and Obi are in discussions to possibly align with the SDP.

Adebayo expressed optimism that if the duo and other prominent figures commit to the party’s ideology, they could successfully challenge and retire Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
