Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has passed away.

He reportedly died in the early hours of today, just days before his 90th birthday.

His death was confirmed in a statement issued by Barrister Oladapo Ogunwusi on behalf of the family.

About a year ago in April 2024, the rumour of the death of the elder statesman was reported by some news platforms, but he debunked the rumour, saying he was hale and hearty.

The family appealed for privacy during this period of mourning, noting that arrangements for a befitting burial are underway.
