Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, urging him to remain focused on good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Obasanjo made the call on Sunday night when he paid a surprise congratulatory visit to Adeleke at his country home in Ede. The former president, who was accompanied by Otunba Fasawe, was warmly received by the governor, who expressed gratitude to God for the outcome of the governorship election.
During the visit, Obasanjo prayed for continued success in Adeleke’s administration and encouraged him to remain committed to meeting the needs of the people. “Continue to deliver good governance. Continue to meet the needs of your people,” the former president charged.
Adeleke, who described the visit as a surprise, thanked Obasanjo for the gesture and pledged to remain committed to serving the people of Osun State. “Baba, I thank you for this surprise visit. I promise never to disappoint God, Osun people and all lovers of democracy who made our victory possible,” he said.
The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, accompanied Adeleke in receiving the former president during the visit.
