The Senate has confirmed the appointment of three nominees as non-career ambassadors following their screening by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Those confirmed are Lateef Kayode Kolawole Are from Ogun State, Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Emmanuel Ayodele Oke from Oyo State.

Their confirmation came after the upper chamber considered and adopted the committee’s report, which cleared the nominees for the diplomatic roles.

The Senate noted that the appointments align with Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and ongoing diplomatic engagements, adding that the confirmed ambassadors are expected to effectively represent the country’s interests abroad.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier forwarded the names of the nominees to the Senate for confirmation. The submission was announced by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during a plenary session.
