The Society made this known through its Executive Director, Wasiu Oyedokun-Allí while speaking with journalists at this month’s edition of the State of the State Address, where he noted that such dialogue will bridge divides and place Osun above partisanship, adding that the interest of the people at the grassroots must be protected at all costs.
“An urgent round-table needs to be convened, bring together representatives of the State Government, Local Government officials, political parties, civil society and community leaders. Such dialogue will help bridge divides and place Osun above partisanship,” he said.
The Society frowned at the gruesome killing of one Moruf Adebisi by unidentified individuals in the Dada Estate Area of Osogbo, the State Capital.
They urged security agencies to take swift action to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and brought to justice promptly.
The Society further called on relevant stakeholders to mediate in the lingering impasse between Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN ) and Dangote, emphasizing that both parties share blame for the escalation of the dispute.
