The River State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas has inaugurated a new board for the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA.

This is aimed at addressing the persistent challenge of indiscriminate waste disposal in the state.

The Sole Administrator charged the newly appointed members to embrace a disciplined and holistic approach to waste management.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ibas highlighted the health risks posed by poor sanitation and urged the board to take proactive steps in ensuring cleaner and safer environments across the state.

In addition to the RIWAMA board, chairmen and members of six other state agencies were also inaugurated during the event.
