In a statement released by the Governor, he described the incident as “unfortunate” but expressed gratitude that no lives were lost. He urged Ayefele, whom he referred to as his brother and friend, to stay strong, assuring him that “this too shall pass and Fresh FM will bounce back.”

Meanwhile, the management of Fresh FM confirmed that the blaze caused severe damage to key facilities. According to Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and its sister station, Blast 98.3 FM, were “badly burnt” alongside nearby offices, the newsroom, and the transmitter and server room.

“We are sad to inform the public that the Head Office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge–Ibadan, was razed by a devastating fire incident on Friday evening, August 15, 2025,” Akindele said in a statement. “Despite efforts to contain the fire with in-house extinguishers, the magnitude of the inferno overwhelmed our capacity before professional firefighters arrived.”

He noted that the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined, while the cause of the fire also remains unknown.

The management expressed appreciation to residents, passersby, and officials of the Oyo State Fire Service who responded promptly to help contain the fire.
