The Former Chairman of Irewole Local Government made this known while featuring on Rédíò Afínju’s Yoruba current affairs programme ‘Gbagede Ọrọ’ where he noted that the flag bearer of the Party should come from Osun West Senatorial District, as the zone has not produced any Governor in the State since 1999.
He hinted that if the Incumbent Minister of Blue and Marine Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, shows no interest in running for the post, the next candidate should come from the West while stressing that politics is democratic and a fight for one’s right.
Abbas who affirmed that the West agenda has been on since the 2018 election, however, got relaxed as a result of Party supremacy and the decision of Party Elders.
While speaking, Abass opined that picking the gubernatorial candidate ticket from the West will bring back decamped Party bigwigs.
