Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has attributed her freedom from long-standing struggles with anger, addiction and sexual immorality to her Christian faith.

Speaking during a recent Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church in Abuja, the actress described her experience as an act of thanksgiving, revealing that she battled what she called “demonic anger” for years, which damaged her personal life and relationships.

Dikeh said she only found lasting peace at the age of 40. She also disclosed a 27-year addiction to smoking, which began when she was 13, and warned parents against exposing children to unhealthy habits.

“Standing before you here is a girl who is a chimney, constant smoke. That is what the devil did to me, I smoked since I was 13. I will tell you this as a parent: if you are a smoker or you do something that is not right, keep it away from your children,” she said.

“Do not take it near your children because the devil can take as little as that habit to inhabit the lives of your children. I started smoking because my dad is a smoker. I have been smoking since I was 13, and it has been 27 years since I started smoking.”

The actress further admitted to heavy alcohol consumption, saying she drank up to two large bottles of spirits daily, often to the point of passing out.

She also spoke about a lifelong struggle with sexual immorality, including masturbation and recurring sexual experiences in her dreams, which she said ended after attending a prayer conference in Ghana.

Dikeh said her testimonies reflect how faith and prayer delivered her from destructive habits and restored her peace.
