The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, and India’s Defence Adviser to Nigeria, Colonel Manoj Singh, have reaffirmed the strategic military partnership between both countries during a courtesy visit to Army Headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement by Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, the Army chief underscored the importance of sustaining Nigeria’s long-standing defence ties with India.
He described India’s support in training, capacity building, and defence development as invaluable and called for deeper collaboration in counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, equipment support, and professional military education.

Colonel Singh commended the Nigerian Army’s efforts in addressing security challenges and expressed India’s readiness to expand cooperation, including more training opportunities and enhanced technical exchanges.
The visit ended with a presentation of souvenirs, the signing of the visitors’ book, and a group photograph, reaffirming the enduring defence relationship between both nations.
