Sophia Momodu says she has been the sole caregiver for her daughter, Imade Adeleke, and has received no child support from Davido.

Her statement followed online criticism after Imade did not attend the singer’s recent birthday celebration in Atlanta.

In a post on Snapchat, Momodu said she woke up to messages targeting her daughter and painting a false picture of Imade’s well-being. She described Imade as a “happy, healthy and well-rounded child” who lacks nothing.

Momodu rejected claims that she blocks Davido from seeing their daughter. She said she only prioritises Imade’s safety and routine, and has never denied him access.

She explained that she has handled all of Imade’s expenses for years, except school fees, which Davido’s father has been paying. She added that she has now waived all outstanding child-support payments and future claims, leaving her fully responsible for Imade’s finances.

Momodu said she wants her daughter to maintain a good relationship with both parents and urged the public to stop spreading false narratives involving the child.

Her statement comes amid an ongoing custody dispute. Davido previously asked a court to grant him unrestricted access to Imade, while Momodu has maintained she has never kept the child from him.
