The rapper spoke about reports of genocide and targeted attacks against religious communities in the African nation.

Minaj’s appearance at the event, which was livestreamed on the U.S. Mission to the United Nations’ official YouTube channel, followed a prior announcement that she would join U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz, at the forum.

During her address, Minaj condemned the escalating violence, describing it as a crisis of alarming proportions. “In too many places, including Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed,” she said. “Churches are burned, families torn apart, and entire communities live in constant fear simply because of their faith.”

The rapper stressed that this issue extends beyond Nigeria and calls for immediate, global action. “Sadly, this problem is not confined to Nigeria it’s growing in many parts of the world, and it demands urgent attention,” Minaj added.

Minaj emphasized that advocating for the protection of Christians should not be seen as taking sides but as a call for unity. “Protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about dividing people; it’s about uniting humanity,” she said. “Nigeria is a beautiful nation with rich faith traditions and many of my beautiful Barbz there. I can’t wait to see them.”

Addressing the destruction of religious spaces, Minaj said, “When a church, mosque, or any place of worship is destroyed, it should break everyone’s heart. This is something that should deeply concern the United Nations, whose mandate is to ensure peace and security.”

The rapper concluded by expressing hope that the dialogue would inspire greater solidarity, urging the global community to urgently work toward ensuring that all individuals can live in peace and freely practice their faith. “I hope this message encourages us all to come together, not just for the sake of Christians in Nigeria, but for everyone’s right to believe, worship, and live in peace.”
