In a video shared on YouTube, Fayose explained that he has already notified the state governor of his wishes. He said his body “belongs to the Ekiti State Government” and that, regardless of when he dies, the government should take full charge of the burial arrangements.
He added that the four-week window was to allow the government enough time to prepare. Fayose also directed that his children should comply with all instructions issued by the authorities when the time comes.
The former governor said he has chosen his grandmother’s home as his final resting place, noting that he has already prepared a garden there for that purpose. He insisted that once he is buried, no one should visit the site again. “If you want to show me love, do so now,” he said.
