During a meeting with a delegation from PLAN International, Shettima emphasised the importance of initiatives like the school feeding programme in reducing the number of out-of-school children.
He invited teenager Joy Ogah to symbolically take over his seat as “one-day Vice President” to advocate for the rights of the girl-child, pledging continued government collaboration with PLAN International.
“In President Bola Tinubu, you have an ally you can trust,” Shettima said, describing the administration as gender-friendly and committed to inclusivity.

He also praised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as a symbol of what empowered girls can become, and commended PLAN International for supporting over 11 million Nigerian children through education and development programmes.
