This was disclosed in a statement released in Abuja by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

According to Hundeyin, Egbetokun will deliver a keynote address on September 18 under the theme “Combating Transnational Crime and Countermeasures.”

“His presentation will spotlight Nigeria’s ongoing counter-crime initiatives, innovative policing reforms, and collaborative efforts with international partners in disrupting cross-border criminal networks and safeguarding communities,” Hundeyin said.

The three-day conference which is set to run from September 16 to 18, 2025, aims to convene ministers of security, chiefs of police and law-enforcement leaders from around the world to discuss joint responses to transnational crime.

Ahead of the forum, the IGP was scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with China’s Deputy Minister of Public Security, Qi Yanjun, to explore enhanced security cooperation, intelligence sharing and capacity building between the two countries, the FPRO added.

He emphasised that the delegation will use the forum to deepen ties with partners, attract capacity-building support and showcase reforms intended to protect communities and secure borders.

According to the organisers, the GPSCF will include plenary sessions and several sub-forums tackling topics from tourism and border security to cybercrime and counterterrorism.

Nigeria is expected to join other international delegations and multilateral organisations gathered to exchange best practices, training opportunities and technical assistance.
