World leaders have condemned the assassination of right-wing activist and Trump ally, Charlie Kirk, warning of the harms of politically-motivated violence.

U.S. President Donald Trump called it a “dark moment for America” and vowed to hold those responsible accountable, calling Kirk a “martyr for truth.”

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said there is “no justification for political violence,” warning it threatens democracy. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer echoed that sentiment, saying debate must be free and without fear.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called the killing a “deep wound for democracy,” while Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu described Kirk as “murdered for speaking truth,” and praised his support for Israel.
