He made this known while speaking during an interview on National Television, Sirika refuted reports linking him to a growing opposition alliance reportedly being formed by several prominent politicians.
He confirmed visiting the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he met with presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga. According to Sirika, the issue came up during their conversation.
“Yesterday, I was with Bayo Onanuga in the Presidential Villa, and he said I was in the coalition. I told him I was not, and never will be,” Sirika said. “He said he got that from the reports. People can join coalitions, it is democracy.”
In early July, a political coalition spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar adopted the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as its platform ahead of the 2027 general elections. The group says it aims to provide “competent, capable, and compassionate leadership” for Nigeria.
