According to INEC, a total of 1,379,342 Nigerians completed their pre-registration in the first week of the exercise. Osun State recorded the highest number with 393,269 registrations, followed by Lagos (222,205), Ogun (132,823), and the Federal Capital Territory (107,682). In contrast, South-east states recorded shockingly low numbers, Ebonyi (261), Imo (481), Enugu (484), and Abia (772), with a combined total of just 1,998.
The ADC described the figures as implausible and contradictory to both historical voting patterns and demographic realities. It questioned how Osun State, which only added 275,815 new voters over a four-year period between 2019 and 2023, could now record over 393,000 registrations in just seven days.
The party argued that three Southwestern states- Osun, Lagos, and Ogun, accounting for over 54% of the national total, while entire regions such as the South-east and North-east trailed with less than 7%, raised serious questions about the integrity of the process.

“These figures suggest either a technical failure or deliberate manipulation of data,” the party said, warning that a compromised voter register could undermine the entire electoral process.
The ADC called on INEC to conduct and publish a forensic audit of the CVR data, including a state-by-state breakdown of both online and physical registrations. It also urged the commission to release server logs, bandwidth distribution records, and regional access reports for the registration portal during the period in question.
The party called on opposition parties, election observers, and legal advocacy groups to scrutinise the figures and press for accountability. INEC has not yet responded to the concerns.
