His resignation was contained in a letter, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Kokani, Kida Ward, Hawul Local Government Area.

“I humbly submit my resignation as a member of the PDP with immediate effect.
“I thank you for the privilege and opportunity granted to me during my time in the party,” he announced.

Kida did not state his reasons for leaving, political observers believe the defection is part of a broader opposition realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, aimed at challenging the ruling party’s dominance in Borno and beyond.
