In a resignation letter he addressed the party leadership, Uli cited persistent leadership crises and a lack of internal discipline in the PDP since 2022. He said the party had strayed from its founding principles and could no longer enforce accountability
“Warning signs became evident when certain members placed themselves above party discipline, regardless of their misconduct,” he stated.
Uli, a founding PDP member since 1998, said he remained committed to the mission of “liberating Nigeria and Katsina State,” adding that he would now pursue that goal through the ADC, which he described as a more democratic, disciplined, and ideologically driven platform.
His defection adds to a growing wave of exits from the PDP in Katsina, as internal divisions continue to erode the party’s strength.
