The tragic incident, which occurred on Idiangbona Street in Ovbiogoe Community, was as result of a heated argument between the couple on March 16. Neighbours, who were used to their frequent quarrels, did not suspect the fight would end in bloodshed.
A community member who craved anonymity, noted that the couple had been together for over three years, with Nnamdi moving in with Osasu and her daughter from a previous relationship.
Their traditional wedding had been fixed for March 29, while the church ceremony was scheduled for April 6, adding that Osasu is already pregnant for Nnamdi.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, said officers from the Ekiadolor Division forced the door open after neighbours reported a disturbing odour, stressing that they have commenced an investigation into the unpleasant case.
Yamu noted that preliminary investigations point to Nnamdi as the prime suspect, as he has been missing since the discovery.
