The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has begun efforts to integrate its platform with institutional portals, allowing for seamless verification of student information.

The Executive Director of Operations at NELFUND, Mustapha Iyal, made this known during a sensitization program held at the University of Ilorin for higher institutions in Kwara State, where he noted that collaborating directly with institutions is a way of easing the verification process.

He added that this will enable students to select their preferred payment method—whether through NELFUND, cash, or other means—right from their school’s registration process.

Iyal maintained that this move will eliminate the need for students to visit the NELFUND portal separately, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process.

Speaking on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, at the event, Umar Farouk commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for establishing the student loan initiative, noting that it will enhance access to higher education for indigent students.
