The Police Public Relations Officer of the state Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramhan Nansel, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen.
He said the command had on Friday received information that suspected armed robbers attacked a farm at Akwanga, inflicted injuries on the security guard using a Machete and rustled thirty-four cows.

According to the statement, the police operatives in collaboration with the military and Vigilantes acting based on the strength of the information, swiftly mobilised to the scene and rescued the injured security guard to the hospital for medical treatment and launched a manhunt for the criminals.
The statement said the relentless search paid off on the same date at about 1316hrs when the criminals were intercepted at Akun Forest, Nasarawa Eggon where a gun duel ensued.
Consequently, two suspects were fatally injured and arrested and the rustled cows subsequently recovered.
The statement added that the commissioner of police, Shetima Mohammed commended the synergy exhibited by the security operatives that led to the success recorded and appreciated the Vigilante group for their support, and thereafter urged them to sustain the tempo.
