The commander explained that the suspect confessed to the crime during preliminary questioning and admitted that it was not his first involvement in such illegal activities. He would often steal cocoa and bananas from farms and sell them to interested buyers.
He explained further that the suspect was apprehended after committing the theft and attempting to hide in an uncompleted building, where he was eventually caught.
Omoyele disclosed that the suspect had been transferred to the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for further investigation and interrogation.
The Corps Commander while urging residents of Osun State to remain vigilant and security-conscious in their communities encouraged them to report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the Amotekun Corps or other relevant security agencies for swift intervention.
