The accident had caused gridlock leading to travellers being trapped along Ife/Ibadan/Lagos Expressway.
Casualties from the accident were confirmed by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, spokesman, Kehinde Adeleke in a statement he made available to journalists..
According to the statement, 17 persons travelling in a commercial bus were involved in the accident. Five passengers- two male, two females and a toddler -were brought out of the wreckage lifeless and have been deposited at the morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.
He described the accident as unfortunate and avoidable and urged drivers to be careful and observe speed limit while driving.
