It was learnt that the incident occurred at a filling station in Itori.
The command’s spokesperson, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident to newsmen and stated that the deceased’s family had been informed.
The bus driver, Akeem Olorode, reported the incident to the Ewekoro Divisional Police Headquarters.
Odutola said, the driver was en route to Ibadan with a bus that seats 18 passengers, but was carrying only 15 travellers when they departed from Papalanto.
As other passengers reportedly made desperate attempts to administer first aid, news reports learnt that the traveller collapsed and passed away inside the bus.
Upon receiving the report, Odutola stated that police detectives from the division were sent to the scene, where they found the deceased along with other passengers.
She added that it was later revealed that the deceased was a resident of Ibadan. He was transported to a state hospital in Ifo, where a doctor on duty confirmed his death.
