Mojeed appeared before the Chief Magistrate of the Iyaganku Family Court, Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi. The prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, presented the case to the court, alleging that Mojeed lured the young girl into his room and committed the heinous act.

The court, finding the allegations credible, ordered Mojeed to be remanded in custody at the Agodi Correctional Centre. This decision was made pending the receipt of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The case has been adjourned until October 14, 2024, to allow for the thorough review of the case by the DPP. If found guilty, Mojeed could face significant legal consequences, including imprisonment. According to Adedeji, the offences committed contravened Section 34 of the Oyo State Child’s Rights Law, 2006.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern within the community. Many are calling for justice for the victim and stricter measures to protect children from such crimes. The case is being closely monitored by both law enforcement and child protection organizations.
