Some Nigerians had on Thursday begun a nationwide protest dubbed “10 Days of Rage” with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance, highlighting the country’s economic challenges.
Before the demonstration, Asari Dokubo, the Niger Delta activist, warned organisers not to bring the protest to the region, claiming their agenda does not address their issues.
During a meeting with the security council in Abuja , the minister of the Federal Capital Territory ,FCT, Nyesom Wike, said there is intelligence suggesting that the protesters intend to destroy property.
He added that a senator allegedly sponsoring the protest has been identified.
In response, DJ Switch said the only solution to the people’s “hunger is food, not violence or intimidation”.
She also challenged Wike and Dokubo to confront the protesters if they were not afraid.
