Nigerian actress Nkechi Blessing has opened up about a recent incident where she had a woman arrested for taking an unauthorized photo of her at the gym.
The actress revealed that the photo, which showed her working out, was taken without her consent and was later circulated online with the apparent intent to body-shame her and invade her privacy.
Speaking on a podcast, Nkechi broke down in tears as she shared her frustration and hurt over the situation. She condemned the practice of body-shaming, particularly when it comes from individuals who have undergone cosmetic procedures but mock women with natural bodies.
“I found it hurtful and frustrating that someone would take my picture in such a vulnerable space just to shame me,” she said. “It’s one thing to body-shame me, but it’s another when people who’ve altered their bodies are the ones mocking women like me.”
The actress revealed that after the photo was shared online, she took immediate action to identify the person responsible. Despite initial resistance from the gym management, who she claims withheld key information that could have helped her track down the culprit, Nkechi eventually located the woman and had her arrested.

“I later found out who took the picture and made sure she was held accountable,” Nkechi said. “The gym could have helped more, but they didn’t. I had to go through a lot of effort to find her.”
Nkechi also took the opportunity to emphasize her confidence in her natural body, saying, “This is my body, this is how I’ve always been. I’ve had my son, and I’m proud of my body. If you’ve had surgery and still think it’s okay to mock a natural body, then that’s a problem.”
The incident has sparked conversations about privacy, body positivity, and the ethics of taking and sharing images without consent, especially in the age of social media.
