It was gathered that the suspect, identified as Buba Lawal, was arrested by local vigilante operatives while attempting to deliver ammunition to members of the kidnapping syndicate.

Lawal, a native of Okoloke Village in Egbe, Kogi State, was arrested in Oko, a community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Sources disclosed that he was moving suspiciously when he was flagged down by the vigilante group on routine patrol. A swift search led to the discovery of an AK-47 magazine loaded with eight rounds of live ammunition, which had been carefully concealed on his body.

He was immediately handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Kwara State Police Command for further investigation.
