The announcement was made at the ongoing Special Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Tinubu stated that the move was intended to honor the legacy of the late former President and what he stood for in Nigeria.

Reflecting on Buhari’s time in office and his long military and civil service, Tinubu praised the late leader’s simplicity, humility, and stoic resistance to the trappings of power.

Recall that late President Muhammadu Buhari died on Sunday in a London hospital and was buried in Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday.
