The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Nentawe Yilwatda, has been sworn in as the new national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yilwadta was inaugurated as chairman following his adoption by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party at its ongoing meeting at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), who is also the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, moved the motion for his adoption. The motion was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen.

Yilwadta, replaces former National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned on 27 June 2025.
