The lifeless body of the 41-year-old, who was appointed registrar in January 2025, was discovered in his residence in Akure, the state capital in the early hours of the day.

When contacted over the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the death of the deceased was a case of assassination.

According to the PPRO, “The man died in the early hours of the day. I can confirm to you, this was reported at Fanibi Division. I can confirm to you that the man was killed.

Ayanlade appealed to anyone with information on the assailants to approach the police. He assured that such information will be treated with confidentiality.

The management of UNIMED had also confirmed the incident in a statement issued by the Head of Media and Protocol, Isaac Oluyi.
