Acting on intelligence about criminal groups terrorising communities and destroying farmlands, the troops launched simultaneous clearance missions around Tarhembe, Tornyi, TY Farm, and Kando in Takum, as well as parts of Ussa.

During the operation, troops engaged the terrorists in a brief gun battle, forcing them to flee. They recovered four rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, an AK-47 magazine, and a motorcycle. Other camps in Ussa were cleared without resistance.

Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, commended the troops’ professionalism and urged residents to continue providing credible information to aid operations.

The Army said the operation has disrupted bandit activities and restored confidence among local communities in the state, which has long suffered from conflicts between herders and farmers and increasing bandit attacks.
