Troops under Operation Lafiya Nakowa carried out a clearance patrol around several villages in Takum Local Government Area after receiving intelligence about armed groups planning attacks.
During the operation, they discovered and destroyed a hideout near TY Farm in Tati, forcing the bandits to flee. One Dane gun and other items were recovered.
The Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, praised the soldiers for their quick response and urged residents to share credible information that could help security forces prevent attacks.
In Benue, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke raided a suspected cult base in the North Bank area of Makurdi, arresting seven people linked to robbery, drug abuse, and cult violence.
Items recovered include two locally made pistols, ammunition, a laptop, a dagger, and charms. The suspects are now in military custody for further investigation.

Force Commander Major General Moses Gara commended the troops for their efforts and warned youths, especially students, against joining cult groups or engaging in crime.
He assured that the Army will continue to sustain pressure on criminal networks across Taraba and Benue.
