President Bola Tinubu has asked All Progressives Congress leaders and governorship aspirants from Osun State to unite and support a consensus candidate ahead of the party’s primary.
The appeal was shared in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The meeting was held at the State House in Abuja.
Top APC aspirants, including Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke, Babatunde Oralusi, Mulikat Abiola Jimoh, and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji attended.
Also present were APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, SGF George Akume, PGF Chairman Hope Uzodimma and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola.

Tinubu praised the aspirants for their commitment but warned against the divisions that cost the party the last governorship election in the state. He urged them to respect party decisions, work together and support whoever emerges from the consensus process.
At the end of the meeting, the aspirants and party leaders signed a joint declaration promising to back the consensus candidate and avoid actions that could weaken the party.
They also pledged to work together for APC’s victory in the next Osun governorship election, for which parties must submit candidates to INEC by mid December.
