President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a list of three ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

 

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the submission during Wednesday’s plenary session, Akpabio has directed the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs to review the nominations and report back to the chamber within one week.

 

This is the first list of ambassadorial nominees sent to the Senate by Tinubu since he became the President on May 29, 2023.

The nominees are Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Ayodele Oke.

“The list contains three names for now. I am sure others will follow,” Akpabio said after reading the letter from Tinubu.

Since taking office in 2023, the President has yet to appoint any ambassadors, a delay that has drawn criticism.
