The WHO announced the delivery of initial medicines to Mongolia and Uzbekistan as part of a pilot project aimed at improving childhood cancer survival rates, which are below 30% in low-income countries. The project will provide treatments for around 5,000 children across 30 hospitals in six nations. With plans to expand to 50 countries, the initiative is backed by a $200 million commitment from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
