Suspected members of the Lakurawa terrorist group have attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa, near the Maje border in Bagudo, Kebbi State, killing three officers.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the checkpoint around midnight and opened fire on officers on duty. Residents said the attackers arrived in large numbers, forcing people to flee for safety. The assailants escaped through nearby bushes.
Police spokesperson Nafiu Abubakar said details were still unclear, and immigration officials could not be reached for comments. However, residents and security personnel in the area confirmed the incident.

The attack comes about three weeks after a Customs officer was killed in the same border axis, where official vehicles were also burnt.
The Lakurawa group has been linked to several violent attacks in Kebbi, targeting both civilians and security agents.
Security agencies say investigations are ongoing.
