The Alone crooner, who moved to Lagos in 2018 to pursue a career in music, shared the story during a interview and described his first night in the city of Lagos as an incident that almost made him give up on his dreams.
“The very first day I came to Lagos, I was arrested. I slept at the police station. It was a long story. I don’t want to remember it. I almost gave up,” he said.
Fola added that he wasn’t born in Lagos and it was difficult at first but he adapted to both living conditions and he hustle.
Regardless of his tough beginning , He credited his resilience and determination for helping him adapt to the city’s fast-paced lifestyle.
The singer gained more recognition in the Nigerian music scene after signing with Bella Shmurda’s record label, Dangbani Republik, in October 2024.
His growing catalogue includes tracks such as Alone, Feeling, Mandela, and Who Does That, a collaboration with Bella Shmurda.
